Teng Hong visited 3 dentists prior to his visit to Pusat Pergigian University Malaya.
The 3 dentists visits were:
- Dr. Wong (7th Dec 2006) at Sri Petaling. Teng Hong immediately jumped down from the dentist chair when the dentist walked in (must be his face… he he he) and refused to sit back on it. Dr. Wong suggested taking Teng Hong to government hospital for treatment under GA (General Anaesthetic).
- Dr. Ng (11th Jan 2007) at Subang Jaya. Agreed with Audrey who recommended this dentist to mummy that this dentist is friendly. She was able to communicate with Teng Hong and managed to check all his teeth. She also did some cleaning, and then put some dressing at the tooth which was causing Teng Hong in pain at that time. However Teng Hong was not co-operating enough for her to do the filling. She could only suggest to keep brushing the teeth, controlled his diet and wait until Teng Hong grows a little older until he can corporate with the dentist to do the treatment.
- Dr. Nafsiah (12th Feb 2007) at TTDI; was recommended by Xin Yi’s paediatrician. Teng Hong was co-operated with her too. She managed to check his teeth and did some cleaning. She complained that Teng Hong’s teeth were not properly brushed. The cavities were caused by poor oral hygiene and too much sticky sweet food. She also referred Teng Hong to University Malaya to do the treatment under GA (same as Dr. Wong’s suggestion).
Teng Hong loves to eat sweets, chocolates, ice cream, prunes, dates and other preserved fruits without drinking water or rinsing his mouth immediately after that, which might be the cause to his teeth decay.
When he was about 2 years+, all of a sudden he refused mummy to brush his teeth, he cried, screamed and closed his mouth tightly whenever he saw the toothbrush. Sometimes he even pushed mummy’s hand away. Mummy scared Teng Hong would push mummy and hurt the baby so mummy let kakak to do the “job”.
It is sad to know that Teng Hong suffers advance dental problem at such a young age; he is going to be 4 years old now. All his first primary molars and 3 of the incisors were badly decayed, now the second primary molar started to decay as well.

Thanks Martini. I just call to make an appointment with Dr Wong. I'm bringing my boy to do a dental checkup. Heard that he's good.

You are welcome. That's a good practice to have a dental check up :)
