During Her Stay in Kuala Lumpur

I received a call from Siek Hui (my old best friend) two days ago. It reminded me that I have not blogged about our great catch up when she and her family were here. Yes, it has been almost seven years we have not seen each other, all this while we only keep in touch over the telephone. Thank You, Mr. Bell, I must say.

Saturday, 5th July 2008
Upon their arrival, Siek Hui and family, in the afternoon, we immediately went for late lunch, dim sum. And in the evening, we had our diner at Nyonya Colors @ The Gardens for dinner. Siek Hui did not waste much time. Immediately after diner, she bought a few pairs of Vincci footwear at Megamall, Mid Valley.

Sunday, 6th July 2008
We went to 1 Utama Shopping Centre for lunch at icanton before taking our kids to have some fun at KizSports & Gym. After about half an hour or so with the kids at Kizsports, the mummies went to do some shopping leaving the daddies to look after the kids. This time I shop tooJ. Siek Hui bought some shoes and shirts; I bought myself a pair of sanders, some shirts and a jacket for Teng Hong. Nothing for Xin Yi this time thoughL. Siek Hui insisted to pay for one of my shirts and Teng Hong’s jacket… Thank you, Hui.






Our car just won’t start when we were leaving 1U at about 6pm. After trying for about ½ an hour, we took our kids to have dinner at Kluang Station while daddy waited for the technician to come to fix it. It was the battery! We had to have it changed.

It was indeed an expensive Sunday.

Monday, 7th July 2008
After Teng Hong finishes his kindie, I took Siek Hui & family to KL Aquaria. Since my kids and I have already been there, I didn’t join them but take Teng Hong and Xin Yi to play at the KLCC Park. They were so happy; unfortunately the KLCC pool was closed for scheduled maintenance. Otherwise they would have a great time. Siek Hui & family later joined us in the park and took some photos of the Petronas Twin Towers. After the kids played for a while we had some ice cream, pies and burgers at Burger King. That evening, we had dinner at a Chinese Restaurant nearby our house and decided to have an early night because Siek Hui has to catch the morning flight home the next day.



Tuesday, 8th July 2008
It was early in the morning, around 4.40am, Siek Hui & family left our house by taxi to go to KLIA-LCCT to catch the 7.50am flight back to Padang. Their flight which scheduled in the afternoon was changed to morning (7.50am) Flight cancellation by AirAsia! I felt very sorry for not being able to send them off at airport.


Time really flies, it has been a week since they have gone home, not only me who was very excited and had a great time when they visited us, Teng Hong and Xin Yi also enjoyed playing with their new friend Alvin (Siek Hui’s son) very much.

If not for the frequent earthquakes at Padang, 2-3 times in a year; I would have visited them. I just hope that we can meet more often in future!
