My Boy Turns 5

Yeah, finally. Teng Hong has been waiting for today for quite some time because he is looking forward to having a “Game Boy” as his birthday present. At first daddy & mummy has agreed to get one for him, but later last week mummy changed mind and decided to postpone buying a Game Boy for him. The reason is he still doesn’t know how to take care of his belongings; he will simply leave his things everywhere and then forget about it. We receive some advices that he is too young for a Game Boy.

He is very disappointed and upset when mummy told him about that. What to do?

In fact, we have got him an early birthday present “Asder Talking Notebook Inspiration”, but after playing with it for a while he gets bored! It’s not as interested as the real computer, hehe…



Teng Hong had an early birthday celebration at his kindy together with the kindy year end party. Mummy surprised him with an “Ultraman” birthday cake. He was very happy!

Happy 5th Birthday, Teng Hong! Daddy and Mummy will always love you!

At five,

his growth, weight 21 kg and height 113 cm, his weight was increased 1.5 kg from his last birthday’s whereas the height was increased 8 cm.

his diet, no longer takes milk at night, only 2x daily at morning and afternoon each 300ml, still on bottles.
He loves curry, tomato ketchup and soya sauce, all kind of sauces I might say.

his bad habits, some of them:

• likes to mess around with his toys and keeps nagging when we ask him to clean up
• likes to play water at the basin and bathroom which in turn waste a lot of water
• likes to disturb his little sister (makes her cry) but he loves her very much
• still likes to be pampered or act as mummy’s little boy
  

his emotional, gets bored very fast and his concentration span is very short. He is a sentimental boy; he cried out loud when daddy left for Sudan early this month and two days ago he burst into tears when he recalled his late great grandma.

his achievement, able to read books with simple words, like: "Peter and Jane book 1a, 1b & 1c", "Odonata Chinese books 100 words book 1&3", just started it this month (should have started it earlier).

his interest, since he turned four November last year, he could recognize and memorize quite a lot of cars which he spotted on the road, like: Toyota (Vios, Corolla, Altis, Avanza, Inova, Estima, Alphard, Hilux), Honda (City, Jazz, CRV, Civic, Stream), Perodua (Kancil, Kelisa, Kenari, Kembara, Myvi), Atoz, etc. He can tell us the name of the cars by looking at the back, sometimes the side or only the front part of the cars. I was amazed when there was once a car was moving towards us and he told me it’s a Fiat Punto!

Later in July this interest was taken over by “Ultraman”. He likes to google “Ultraman” pictures, watch the DVD and YouTube. Now he knows almost all the Ultraman. *wink*
